Jyothirmayi was a seriel artist first. She got famous for her roles in the seriel Indraneelam. Her first film was Pilots which starred Suresh Gopi, but the film was a failure. She began to be noticed by the film Meesamadhavan. She is now one of the busiest actresses in industry.
